Cigarette Making Line Complete Spare Parts Guide
A modern cigarette making line is a complex chain of synchronized machinery spanning tobacco preparation through to packed cartons. Understanding spare parts across every station helps production managers optimize inventory and reduce downtime risk. This guide covers the entire line.
Line Overview: 6 Stations
- Tobacco Feed — Hopper, distribution rollers, suction band
- Rod Forming — Garniture, suction belt, cutting drum, heater section
- Filter Attachment — Plug feed, tipping paper, rolling drums, ejection
- Quality Control — Density scanners, reject stations, weight control
- Packaging — Hinge-lid packer, inner frame, foil wrapper
- Cartoning — Bundle collation, carton erector, case packer
Station 1: Tobacco Feed
Key spare parts include hopper vibrator springs, tobacco distribution rollers, suction band assemblies, and feed roller bearings. Wear is primarily from tobacco dust abrasion. Regular filter cleaning prevents suction loss.
Station 2: Rod Forming (PROTOS / MK9)
This is the highest wear area. Critical parts include garniture tongue and horn, suction belts, cutting knife assemblies, heater bands, and cooling rails. See our dedicated guides for PROTOS 90 and MK8/MK9 for detailed coverage.
Station 3: Filter Attachment (MAX S)
The MAX S filter attachment handles plug alignment, tipping paper cutting, glue application, and rolling. Key parts include plug alignment drums, tipping paper knives, gum rollers, and rolling drum assemblies.
Station 4: Quality Control
Optical sensors, density measurement units (gamma or microwave), and reject solenoids. Sensor cleaning supplies and calibration tools are ongoing consumables.
Station 5: Packaging (Focke / G.D)
Packaging machines have their own spare parts ecosystem. Key items include folding boxes, glue nozzles, heating plates, and transport belts. See our Focke 700 and G.D X-Series guides.
Station 6: Cartoning
Carton erectors, bundle collators, and case packers. Wear parts include vacuum cups, guide rails, and drive belts.
Building Your Line Inventory
A well-stocked spare parts inventory for a complete making line should cover 200-500 critical SKUs. Start with consumables (tongues, knives, belts) at 2-3 month coverage, then add machine-specific parts (drum assemblies, control modules) with longer lead times.
